Návrh objektu pro bydlení s kombinovaným konstrukčním systémem
Měšťan, Ondřej
This bachelor thesis is inspired by the currently growing trend of modern living. This project is devoted to designing a modern family house for four family members. The whole work is based on the idea of using individual advantages and preferences of both timber constructions and concrete structures and the effort to use these properties together in order to determine whether and how the joining of these construction systems would work in practice. Throughout the project, the emphasis is put on the architectural and aesthetic aspect of the thing by combining wood and concrete elements or architectural concrete. A great inspiration for a significant part of the constructions or elements used in the project is also low-energy and passive building, although this work does not address the issue sufficiently deeply and for this reason it can not be considered as low-energy or passive. The text part is based on and corresponds to the drawing documentation, which is crucial for this work.

Housing in the USA after 1945
Dočekalová, Lenka
The contribution deals with the theme of a modern living in the U.S. in the post-war period, which was concentrated around the magazine Arts and Architecture. This part is supplemented with further two examples of prototypes of houses from the period of post-war construction boom years, but they are quite different in their approach. The first one was realized in the city district Lakewood Park in Los Angeles, and demonstrates the massive growth of the stereotypical housing development of detached houses in the surroundings of towns. The second example is a prefabricated Lustron house, a house as a ready-made product from the factory.
